Highly Recommended
D. Freeman (USA) 12/4/2009 8:14 AM
I just had a mass removed and a skin graft taken from my hip to cover the area operated on and both locations were covered in Xeroform and then normal gauze. After being released from the hospital, the plastic surgeon recommended I keep the original Xeroform over the graft donor site, to let it dry up while only changing the gauze that covered the Xeroform. After following his instruction, it has been two weeks since the surgery and the donor site has completely healed and the Xeroform has since seperated from my hip. The site which was opertaed on was pretty deep and I've been changing the Xeroform on it everyday per the doc's orders. The Xeroform clings very well to the surgery site, keeping it soothed and free from contamination. It has been healing very well. I probably will not need to be using it by the week's end. I'm not a doctor though, so consult your's before following my advice. I will likely buy more just to have on hand as it would be great as a first-aid item in my opinion.

Best for skin tears
Bill B. (CA) 12/4/2009 8:14 AM
This Xeroform is fantastic for skin tears & burns. My uncle has had 2 falls resulting in major skin tears, after consulting a plastic surgeon he recommended the daily use of Xeroform then wrapping in gauze to help the skin heal. It is a very slow process but there is no infection and his legs are healing nicely. I have seen this product used in our local ER for years ask your Doctor if it is right for you.
