We needed a transfer board to assist with a wheelchair transfer. It worked well for our needs. The board we ordered is small, so it easily works with a small person and a small wheelchair, but a bigger sized board would be better for an average sized adult. We used it for our teen-aged child (105 pounds). The board has ridges. Not a problem for us, but we put a towel over it so my child's skin wouldn't get caught or irritated.
