Mepilex Border Dressing

I ordered this dressing for a jejunostomy site drainage. When using this product along with the Mepilex Transfer underneath, it absorbs so much of the drainage and wicks it away from the skin, keeping it much healthier. Before using this product I was getting very sore, irritated burned skin from the acidic leaking. It helps a great deal, is the best product I have found yet to help this problem!

My "Wound Care" specialist ordered several sizes of the Mepilex Border Foam Dressings for daily covering of my difficult to heal skin ulcers. Since I am very sensitive to most "off the shelf" bandages and adhesives, I was concerned about trying anything new since we had been using Micropore Medical Tape, White - 3 in. x 10 yards - Box of 4 and non-stick bandages with good results. I am pleased that after a full of week of using these there hasn't been any negative skin reaction to these dressings. These are very comfortable to wear and work just like big a "Band-Aid". They also do not adhere to the wound area when removing the bandage, which is a big plus! My only real complaint is that the adhesive is fairly weak and the bandages will not stay secure for much more than a full day. I have used the 3M tape with good results to hold down edges that have come up in between changing times. Recommended for those with sensitive skin!
