Product Description

28 inch, Lightweight II S.E. Stethoscope

This general-purpose, entry-level stethoscope is an excellent, affordable choice for basic blood-pressure and limited physical assessment. Littmann® quality is apparent from the soft-sealing eartips to the combination bell/diaphragm chestpiece.

The chestpiece is designed for better orientation around blood-pressure cuffs and body contours, and provides clear, reliable acoustic performance. Patented 3M™ Littmann® Snap Tight Soft-Sealing Eartips provide an excellent acoustic seal and comfortable fit.

Plus, the tunable diaphragm, for easy low- and high-frequency monitoring, and lightweight design add even more convenience for entry-level stethoscope users. Available in Black, Lilac and Ceil Blue.

I have been an EMT-Intermediate for 6 years, and every time i get into our ambulance its a different stethoscope with a different diaphragm that is just awful. All i use it for is BPs and Lung Sounds really, but it works great for both and is very comfortable. A friend of mine who is an RN recommended this, and for the price, it is the best stethoscope on the market (IMHO)... wish it came with a nametag or some extra earpieces, but for $40, its the best deal on the market. This was the least expensive with shipping that I found online, and in the 5 medical supply catalogs I reviewed before purchasing. Do yourself a favor, and buy this.
Highly recommended

Although most current medical students, residents, and cardiologists are aware that the Cardiology III stethoscope by Littmann is in vogue, I decided that the price tag attached to one of those stethoscopes was outrageously astronomical and decided to purchase this stethoscope instead. As the name implies, it is lightweight, and the acoustics are impressive. I don't believe that the cardiology III, which I have used, offers anything more that is usable in terms of acoustic data, unless you have very sensitive ears and/or are a cardiology fellow/attending. Remember that medicine is definitely not about who has the fanciest or most expensive tools, but about caring and thinking. I also recommend this specific color; I ordered it thinking that no one else would have this color. I was crestfallen to find that it is a popular choice among nurses, who also choose this color thinking that it's not popular, and therefore a less likely candidate for theft/long-long term borrowing. However, I have grown attached to the color; it's easy on the eyes, and the computer monitor doesn't reflect the true color. It's a little darker.
