This is my first cane. Turning 50 next month and having recently experienced severe knee and hip pain and weakness during this heat/humidity wave, I finally decided that I did need a cane sometimes, and if I had to use one, I wanted a pretty one. :) Also, having to use the cane with my left hand which is my weaker hand, and having done a little research on canes, I found that the T-handle cane would probably be the best type for me. So, I bought the Lilacs and Green Leaves design NOVA Cane with T-Handle. But, unlike the title, the cane doesn't have a strap. I didn't expect that it had a hand strap as the photo didn't show a strap.
Although I do tend to walk slower with the cane, I've already experienced less knee and hip pain when walking with it. I feel more stability when getting in and out of the car and when going up and down steps.
I was a bit concerned reading in the description that the handle on this cane is molded plastic and isn't padded, however, having found another review of this cane elsewhere, it sounded like the handle would be ok. And it is. The handle is quite comfortable. The cane is not only beautiful, but quite sturdy and it can stand by itself if placed on a very flat, even surface, but can be easily knocked over.
I've already discovered a nice bonus to using a cane: I can now reach items on high shelves in the stores. :)
